Betty Lou Martin's Obituary
Betty Lou (Combs) Martin, 96, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on October 18, 1929, in Combs, Arkansas, to Oliver and Mabel Combs. After graduating from St. Paul High School, she met and married James Martin on October 8, 1948. They shared 72 happy years of marriage until his passing. Betty was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 5 brothers, Alvin, Olus, Omer, Melvin and Donald, 1 sister Wanda Wood.
Betty is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly (Tim) Graham of Springdale and Cheryl (Charles) Haney of Fayetteville along with 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Tim (Jessica) Graham, Dusty (Veronica) Graham, Vanessa (Scot) Brink, Chad Haney, Steven (Kim) Haney, and Heath (Amanda) Haney. She was blessed with 18 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Betty devoted her life to homemaking and taking care of her family and anyone she felt she could help. She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and preserving vegetables in the spring raised from their garden, but the highlight of her life was being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednesday, April 29th at Moore's Funeral Chapel, Fayetteville, AR. Funeral service will be 2:00 Thursday, April 30th at Moore’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will immediately follow services at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Crosses, AR. Service will be officiated by Robb Hadley.
