Betty R. Patrick's Obituary
Betty Patrick, 82, of Combs, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24th, 2026, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born May 2,1944 in Patrick, Arkansas to Felix and Martha (Combs) Keys.
She was retired from the Levi Strauss & Co. plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was the first and only female sewing machine mechanic at this location. A true Pioneer. She was kind and loving to all that she met, knew how to tell a good dirty joke, made the best meals and always made sure you ate. She knew how to Pray and made sure that we did. Known to her friends and loved ones as "Betty Boop" and to her kids as "Momma Betty", though we mostly called her "Granny".
She is preceded in death by both her parents; three husbands: Gene Smith, Floyd Ritchie, and Murl Patrick; one daughter, Sarah Smith; three brothers, Don Keys, Robert Keys, and William Keys; three sisters, Jane Turner, Martha Couch, and Billie Barber.
She is survived by one sister, Georgia Brown of Elkins, AR.; five children: Bobby Smith of Combs, AR., Jennifer (Dustin) Johnson of Combs, AR., Douglas Gene Smith of Manhattan, KS., Timothy ( Heather) Scholar of Springdale, Ar., and Debra Smith Lease of Tahlequah, OK.; ten grandchildren, Jamison (Hannah) Johnson of Fayetteville, AR., Christian (Regina) Johnson of Morse, LA., Brayden Johnson of Austin, AR., Atlei Johnson of Combs, AR., Dayla Washington of Tahlequah, OK., Charlie Lease of Tahlequah, OK., Darrell Gene Smith of Sapulpa, OK., and Allison (Martin) Casas of Manhattan, KS., Timothy Scholar JR. of Fayetteville, AR., Brandon Scholar of Springdale, AR.; five greatgrandchildren, Coraline, Arora, Athena, Seraphina, and Lukus; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday July 29, 2026, at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home with the visitation being at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Patrick Cemetery in Patrick, Arkansas under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
