Betty Lou Shirley's Obituary
Betty Lou Shirley, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 84 years old. She was born on June 27, 1939, in Berryville, Arkansas, to Carroll B. and Leora Kate (Cain) Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, Michael Shirley, and her son Weston O. Shirley.
Betty worked for the USDA for 37 years. She loved gardening, and she loved being outside. She had a kind heart and she loved everyone. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Betty is survived by her two sons John Shirley of California and Timothy Shirley of Arkansas; daughter Tamsey Hilsabeck of Arkansas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Linda Shirley of Tennessee; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
