Betty Carolyn Taylor's Obituary
Betty Carolyn Taylor, age 84, left this earth peacefully with family by her side, Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Betty was born on May 1, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents, Ernest H. and Pauletta Field Geurin. She grew up in Fayetteville where she graduated with honors from Fayetteville High School, then went on to graduate with a BA in Accounting from the University of Arkansas in 1963, and was a proud lifelong Razorback fan.
She was soon recruited by Continental Oil Company based in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where she met her beloved, Allen. They were married in 1967, and together enjoyed a life filled with adventure while RV camping and traveling around the US.
Betty retired from accounting at Conoco after 13 years, then spent the rest of her life doing what she loved the most, being a wonderful cook, a master seamstress, a gifted artist, and Allen’s devoted partner. She was thrilled to have the time to care for and grace their home with her lovely, handmade needlework and crafts.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Pauletta and her beloved husband of 56 years, Allen Taylor.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Paula (Ken) Ivey of Fayetteville, Arkansas; niece, Sidney (BJ) Hall-Elkins of Fayetteville; nephews, Shane (Lory) Hall of Brentwood, Arkansas and Joe (Emily) Ivey of Fayetteville; great-nieces, Zandalee Long, Maya Hall, Ragen Ivey and Zoey Ivey; great-nephews, Geurin Hall, Shine Elkins, and Valor Elkins. Also surviving are her brother-in-laws, Gary (Nancy) Taylor of Arkansas City, Kansas and Max (Mary) Taylor of Winfield, Kansas, along with nephews-in-law Chris & Chad Taylor and Kirby, Jason, & Scott Duncan; and great-nephews-in-law, Alex, Kendyl, & Gavin Taylor. As well as several cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be at 3:00pm on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore’s Chapel with inurnment to follow.
