I had the pleasure of caring for Mr. Peterka when he resided at Katherine's Place. He was a wonderful man with such a kind heart. Every day off I had, I'd take my son up there to see him and we would sit and chat for hours. He would always show me his newest picture that his granddaughter colored him. He was always so proud of them. I miss Mr. Peterka and wish I had the chance to hug him one more time. My thoughts and prayers are going out to all his family.
I met Bill 21 years ago when I moved to the area to take a job at Gates. I didn't know a soul when I moved here, but I met a good one in Bill. He was one of the first here to befriend me, a young man, 27 years his junior. He became a good friend, end even though we didn't see each other much after I left Gates, I would see him occasionally out and about, and we always picked right back up with a great conversation about where life had taken us lately and what we'd been up to. It's sad knowing that I won't run into him again out there somewhere and be able to have another one of those conversations with him, at least not until I'm called home as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, he will be missed by all who knew him.
