Bill Rose's Obituary
Bill Rose, age 91, of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 17, 1932, in McGehee, Arkansas, to Theodore Brice Rose and Ruby (Davis) Rose and graduated from McGehee High School. He married Virginia Raley in Winchester, Arkansas, on December 12, 1958. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force in Libya during the Korean War and worked and retired after 42 years in Pine Bluff from Union Pacific Railroad as a clerk.
He lived a life filled with a passion for his faith and community. Bill's love for his wife Virginia, family, and the church was unwavering; he humbly served as a Sunday school teacher, special-event dishwasher, and bus driver, where he loved working with the disabled and elderly. Bill was a wonderful neighbor and readily assisted others with daily challenges. He enjoyed the deer camp and loved delivering Meals on Wheels. Bill was a faithful attendee to his grandchildren's events, and his favorite times were when the family celebrated Christmas and held family and friends barn dances.
Bill lived out his Christian faith, and his life was a testament to his strong character. He showed how one person's dedication to their faith, family, and community could create a ripple effect of positivity and love. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in his children and the community he served.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; daughters, Terri Paul and husband Don of Farmington, and Tracy Vinson and husband Brad of Farmington; son, Lt. Col (Ret) Tim Rose and wife Melissa of Elm Springs; grandchildren, John, Stephen, and Zak Paul, Hunter and 2LT Drew Vinson, Abigail and Joshua Rose; 10 great-grandchildren, his brother, Brice Rose of Anthem, Arizona; and many close nieces and nephews.
