Billy Joe Wilson's Obituary
Billy Joe Wilson, age 83, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1941, at the City Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Hugh Ellis and Mattie Belle Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Hugh Wilson, grandson Spencer Franklin, and daughter Shelly Lynn Robbins.
Billy is survived by his wife Bobbie Jo Wilson, daughters Anita Kaye Sullivan and Sherry Tisdale of Fayetteville; sister Anne Belle Glisson of Springdale; and 9 grandchildren.
Billy Joe was a wonderful father and grandfather, with a life dedicated to his family. He served in the National Guard in the 1960’s and upon completion of his service, he owned and operated his own welding business, Wilson Welding. Billy Joe was raised in, and attended school at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He knew most of the people in Fayetteville, and never met a stranger. He was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday, February 6, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Round Mountain Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Round Mountain Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
