Bob E. Cooper ( Colonel U.S. Air Forc's Obituary
Bob E. Cooper (Colonel U.S. Air Force, Ret.), 82 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 in Fayetteville. He was born February 12, 1923 in Hartford, AR to Samuel Edgar and Violet Faye (House) Cooper and graduated High School in Poteau, OK in 1940. After two years of college he entered the U.S. Army as a Private and retired after thirty-one years of continuous active duty as a Regular Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. As a pilot he logged more than 1100 combat flying hours. While stationed in Manila he earned a B.S. Degree in Political Science from the University of the Phillipines.
As a resident of Fayetteville since 1975 he was a member of the Fayetteville Downtown Rotary Club beginning in 1977, several veterans' organizations and the Elk's Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Cooper after forty-four years of Marriage. Survivors are his son, Robert E. Cooper, O.D. of Oklahoma City, OK, his daughter, Kathryn Cooper, M.D. of Dallas, TX, two sisters; Reba Cooper Rothemich of Fayetteville, AR, Lauren Cooper of Stuart, FL and two grandchildren, Alec and Madeline Alaggio both of Dallas, TX.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 16, 2006 in the convocation room at Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville, AR. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
