Bob L. Gaddy's Obituary
Bob L. Gaddy, 68, of Fayetteville entered his Heavenly home on Sunday, September 21. He was born in Bolivar, MO to Lowell H. and Violet Newcomb Gaddy. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1958 and served as president of the student body and Cadet Colonel of ROTC that same year. He graduated in 1963 with a degree in business administration from Pittsburg State College and later in life was given the Meritorious Achievement Award from his Alma Mater. Even though he worked hard to pay his own way through college, he graduated with high scholastic achievement.
Bob was well-known for his giftedness in the world of business, which included many successful endeavors that were a blessing to those around him. His accounting skills coupled with his passion for leadership led him to a brilliant entrepreneurial career that in turn fostered the professional and personal successes of many others. Thanks to Bob's gift of encouragement, he was an esteemed mentor; he never failed to recognize the potential of others and acknowledged the support of those who helped him get his start. Throughout his illustrious career and many accomplishments, Bob's integrity and moral fiber were unwavering. He earned and maintained the respect and admiration of business leaders, his family and community members alike.
Despite his unrelenting work ethic, he never failed to appreciate the simple pleasures, such as walks on his farm with his family and his devoted Labradoodle, Henry Higgins. Even amidst his great professional efforts, laughter was ever-present. Everyone who met Bob during his life was touched by his intelligence, his empathy and his endless compassion. The sum of Bob's virtues and his strong faith in God challenged those around him to be better people.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim and his parents.
His legacy lives on through his family he leaves behind. Beloved wife of 25 years, Linda; his children, Jeff and his wife, Lisa, Deanie and her husband, Gunnar Broberg, Teddy, Lauren and Chelsea. His nephews, Kent and Kraig. His grandchildren Michael Gaddy and his wife Amy, Drew and Tyler Gaddy; Kennon, Addison, Adrianne, and Joey Largent, Hakon Broberg.
Bob will always be remembered for his tenacity and integrity but most of all for the love he showed his family and friends.
