Bobby Smith's Obituary
Mr. Bobby "Bob" R. Smith, 72 of Springdale, AR passed away Thursday, January 8, 2004 in his home in Springdale. He was born January 18, 1931 in Fayetteville, AR to D.O. and Irene (Hall) Smith.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and an avid Razorback fan.
He was a Registered Electrical Engineer in the State of Florida since 1968 and made a career with Florida Power and Light Company serving as N.E. District Manager covering an area from Live Oak, FL to the Atlantic Ocean. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a past president of the Palatka, FL Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society, and the Rotary Club.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to travel, read, and work with wood, becoming a master woodcarver. A "True Hero" in many ways, he was loved and respected by every life he touched.
He is survived by his wife; JoAnn DuCote Smith, four daughters; Deidre Martin of Springdale, AR, Jena Waters of Palatka, FL, Melissa Puffer and Bali Young both of St. Augustine, FL, one sister; Lou Etta Marley of Texarkana, TX, two brothers; Larry D.Smith of Aurora,IL, Randy Smith of Richardson, TX, eight grandchildren; Justin Young, Jennifer Taylor, Samantha Puffer, Kristen Waters, Alissa Waters, Emily Taylor, Kendal Strong, Savannah Strong, and two great grandchildren; Kaeli and Kaleb Young.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, AR.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice 610 East Emma Springdale, AR 72764.
