I knew Brian through UA IE classes and sitting downstairs waiting for Ann at the Chi-O house in the late 70s. Even in those days, he presented as a fine gentleman, and, indeed, he was. Brian was truly a friend to all. I had occasional contact with him thru the years, mostly on social media, but mainly kept up with him thru our mutual friend, Joe Harbuck.

If a Christian is as a Christian does, then Brian is an extraordinary Christian. Surely, such a fine human enjoys eternal life and the company of those preceding him. Hope to see you after a while, then, Brian.

I had hopes Brian might just beat the cancer. He tried so hard and was the longest survivor of melanoma I have ever heard of. I’m sure his journey provided doctors and researchers with much data to someday overcome this disease.

But you would never know from talking to Brian how bad it was. We would talk about his cancer but always talk about other things too. He would try and do things. He would try and go places. And always he would follow the Razorbacks and the sports he loved.

That’s just the way he was. In the early days of his diagnosis, he would do his best to put it aside and tend to business. He was great at tending to business. He knew how to take care of people and his people took care of him. He could pull factions together and settle conflicts. I think because he had such a kind heart and a genuine concern for people that he was able to do that. He kept his organization humming.

It was an honor to have had Brian in our organization. And it was an honor to continue our friendship after we both left. I will miss our periodic check-ins with each other. I know you, his family, will miss him greatly as well. Know that many share in your grief.

Brian was the first person to take a chance on me, in a management role, at AT&T. I am forever grateful for opportunity-it changed my life and career path. I remember him fondly and lovingly speaking of his wife and children. When my sitter would flake on me, he had no issue with me tucking my children away in a breakroom while I worked. It was a blessing to work with and for him. He was a real family and an all around good person. My prayers to his family and friends. The world lost a great man. RIH, Brian. Thanks for everything.

Brian and I shared an office at the SWBT work center on Leverett in the early '80s. One day, this big, tall guy knocked on the office door and let himself in asking to see Brian. He ducked under the door header as he came in and took two strides across to the chair in front of Brian's desk. It was interesting to watch Joe Kleine fold himself in to a normal sized chair while visiting a friend's workplace. Brian . . . always a Hog fan.

But, Brian. I always respected his integrity and positive outlook on life and work. It seemed he had a handle on balancing both with an obvious priority on Ann and family and I know he will be missed by all of us.

A true 'gentle' man. One of the best hearts. So open and appreciative of others. I had a nice lunch with Brian and Lynn Waldren a few years ago, and visited him in the hospital with Tracy Fancher about a year ago. All four of us from the 75 basketball team. We still really enjoyed each other's company almost 50 years later. When you see old friends, the years melt away. Brian was one of the gifted people that kept things light and positive. That's how I'll always see Brian: a bright and positive light. Shine on, brother. Tx Trumbo

It was sad to hear about Brian. Our prayers go out to Ann and the family. The memories of the whole Noland family allowing a bunch of K-State bball players coming down every year for a canoe trip are priceless. Ann being so gracious to put up with us for the weekend and Brian being our babysitter to make sure we didn’t get into to much trouble and driving us at 2 am in the morning to go see the Mickey Mouse driveway. He will be missed what a good man

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Brian’s passing. I have so many memories of Brian and our talks about sports, life, old time fayetteville and common friends. He was a sincere friend to all. We had a long conversation earlier this year about the high school friends who had passed away. He loved to reminisce and it was always fun. I and many others will truly miss his fun loving, open hearted, and kind personality. His life was a life well lived. To the family, my prayers are with you today as you say goodbye. I am sending my most heartfelt condolences. I truly wish I could be there, but I didn’t find out he had passed until yesterday evening while driving to Atlanta. Sending hugs and love to each of you.🙏🏾

So very sorry for the loss Brian. He was one of the best managers at AT&T and I am thankful I had the privilege of working for him for a few years. May God bring comfort to you Ann, and your children and extended family as you adjust to life without his physical presence. He will always be with you, in your hearts. He is resting with God now and what a wonderful place to be!

My deep condolences to the family of the best Director that I was given the opportunity to work for during my time at AT&T. He was fair never making any decisions without hearing all facts from bith sides he will be missed but we'll see him again on the other side
