Byron (Barney) Ellis Hathhorn., 71 of Springdale died Friday; July 16, 2010 in Fayetteville. He was born April 12, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois the son of Byron Ellis and Mildred Lorene (Kramer) Hathhorn, Sr. He was the owner of Read Obituary
Barney was such a vital part of the War Eagle Cove Community. He has done so much for my folks over the years, I will be forever grateful for his presence in our lives.
In addition, he was always good for a fishing report and guidance on the happenings on the lake when I would come visit my parents.
I am truly blessed to have known Barney as a friend.

I lived next door to Byron's Grandparents on South Douglas and knew Byron from kindergarten through High School.

Byron and I grew up together in Springfield and I attended Cub Scouts in his basement where his mother always had something planned for us to do.
He was a great guy and I am sure you all will miss him as each day goes by.

My condolences to Byron's family. He was a good guy as a teenager and I can only imagine what a good man he became.
We are so very sorry that we will be out of town this week and unable to attend the service. We loved our friend Barney and we love you Carol. We will be in touch when we return in a week. Barney will be greatly missed by the Been There Done That class at First Baptist and his church family that loved him. We are praying for Carol and family and will continue to do so. I knew Byron in both grade school and high school (SHS class of '58). A definite individual "back then," I know he made a positive impact on those who knew and loved him later in life. Condolences.....
