Byron and I lost track of each other after high school, but I’ve thought of him many, many times. He was an especially nice guy. One event I’ll never forget. He put a very powerful engine in a ’50 or ’51 Ford. I believe it was a Chrysler Hemi engine. He wanted to show me how much power it had but unfortunately when he shifted into second gear, there was just too much stress on the universal joint and it shattered all over Ventura Road. Of course he came to a quick stop. I was working at his folk’s store on Ventura Road in Oxnard at the time. God Bless you Byron and may your family have peace and comfort.
