Carol Ann Hathhorn's Obituary
Carol Ann Hathhorn, 72, of Springdale passed away Tuesday April 22, 2014. She was born in Modesto, IL to Rosella & Mervin Lomelino on September 3, 1941. Married Byron Ellis Hathhorn on March 18, 1961.
She worked as a secretary for the State of Illinois prior to having children and after they were in high school. In addition, she kept all the books and records of the family businesses Barney’s Auto Parts & Service and Barney’s Auto Sales for 25 years, which was owned and operated by her husband. She accomplished these tasks while being a stay at home mother. She was a past member of Hope Evangelical Free Church and Westside Christian while living in Springfield, IL for 32 years and has been a current member of Cross Church of Springdale, AR for 22 years. She was a devoted follower of Christ and was always very active in the Church community. She and Byron retired to Northwest Arkansas in the summer of 1992 and fell in love with the Natural State. They lived on Beaver Lake in a few different houses over 22 years and loved their current home and neighborhood War Eagle Cove. She was very active with the neighborhood widows and loved playing cards, hanging out in the neighborhood and going out to dinner with her friends. She loved reading and working outside with her flowers and lawn. She always had at least 3 books in process of being read. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years Byron Hathhorn, sister Francis June Jarrad and brothers Ronnie and Harold Lomelino. She is survived by sisters Twila and husband Lindell Oller, Donna Faye and husband David Hancock and Sharon Lomelino (wife of brother Ronnie); brothers Donnie and Ralph Lomelino, all live in Central Illinois; a daughter, Jodi Stamper of Lowell, ARK.; a son, Douglas Hathhorn of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, David and wife Andrea, Lindsay, Andrew and Brianna Fairfield; and one great-granddaughter McKenna. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Cross Church in Springdale with Pastor Charlie Foster officiating.
