Carol Ann Haley's Obituary
Carol Ann Haley (nee Uecker), 88, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2025. Born on September 1, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to August and Mary Uecker (nee Schultz). Carol’s life was marked by love, devotion, and a joyful spirit.
Carol spent much of her life in Milwaukee, where she and her beloved husband, Thomas Haley, created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Above all, Carol found her greatest joy in being a devoted mother to her two daughters, Marie and Theresa. Raising them was a profound source of happiness, and she treasured every moment spent nurturing her family. In 1999, they retired to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where they thoroughly enjoyed their later years together. After Tom's passing, Carol relocated to Rogers, AR with her children and grandchildren where they have spent the last 11 years living together in her home, lovingly nicknamed "the dog house".
Carol’s love for animals was second to none, and she dedicated much of her life to being a compassionate dog rescue mom. She found great comfort in the companionship of her furry friends, often sneaking them treats with a mischievous smile.
A woman of many talents, Carol was an avid bowler for over 60 years, carrying an impressive average of nearly 200 at one point in her bowling career. She also enjoyed playing cards—particularly cribbage and hand and foot—and took pleasure in water aerobics and gardening. A passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, Carol never missed an opportunity to cheer for her teams. In her quieter moments, she delighted in solving hidden object puzzles and playing solitaire on her iPad.
Above all, Carol cherished time spent with family and friends, particularly when it came to going out to eat. Whether it was going out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the joy of gathering around a table with loved ones was one of her most treasured experiences.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Haley; her parents, August and Mary Uecker; her brother, Bob Uecker; her sisters, Rosemary Butler (nee Uecker) and Barbara Jean; her sister-in-law, Joyce Uecker; her nephew, Steve Uecker; her niece, Leann Uecker Ziemer; and other extended family members.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Marie Haley-Twaddle (Larry) and Theresa Haley; granddaughters, Stephanie Holcomb (Devon) and Miranda Haley-Twaddle (Chip Sizemore); great-grandson, Graham Holcomb—whom she affectionately called "my little sunshine"; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Carol’s presence was a gift to all who knew her as she embodied strength, kindness, and generosity. Her warmth, laughter, and stories would brighten any room. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
