Caroline Helen Bannister Rappaport's Obituary
Caroline Helen Bannister Rappaport, 76, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006 in Springdale, AR. She was born April 11, 1930 in Evanston, Illinois to Edwin and Ethel Bannister.
Caroline grew up in Evanston and graduated from Sullivan High School. After moving to New Youk with her family she pursued an education in music at the Manhattan School of Music.
She and her husband, Jerome Rappaport, then moved to Tulsa, OK, where they both taught at Tulsa University. In 1959 they made their home in Fayetteville, AR, where Caroline was a piano teacher for many years. Caroline's many interests included traveling, taking courses in history and literature at the University of Arkansas and swimming in the ocean. She was also a member of Temple Shalom of Fayetteville and the Temple Sisterhood.
She is survived by one son; Stanford Rappaport of San Francisco, California, one daughter, Rowena Rappaport of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a sister, Jean Peterson, of South Bend, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, September 15, 2006 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel with Rabbi Jacob Adler officiating. The family will meet with friends from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
