Caroline Henry's Obituary
Caroline Henry, of Fayetteville, AR passed away at the age of 103 on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Butterfield Trail Village. She was born November 8, 1906 in Valdosta, GA to Dr. Stevens T. Harris and Caroline (Haygood) Harris.
She was a retired teacher, and from the time she and her husband became residents of Fayetteville in the 1950s, was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. During her lifetime she lived in many different parts of the United States, as well as in Mexico and Thailand. With her husband, and after his death with a friend, she traveled extensively, visiting numerous parts of the world, including Cambodia, Scandinavia, Egypt and Ireland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Hugh T. Henry, who was a professor of City Management in the University of Arkansas Department of Political Science.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews, a great grandnephew and two great-great-grandnieces.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Suzanne Stoner officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Hugh T. Henry Memorial Fund C/O the Political Science Department at the University of Arkansas or to St.Paul's Episcopal Church.
