Cathy Jo Roth's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Cathy Jo Roth, of Fayetteville, Arkansas. This warm, kindhearted soul went to be with our Lord on November 22, 2024, while at her home. She was taken too soon at the tender age of 68. A beacon of light and unwavering friendship to all who were fortunate to know her.
Born on the family farm on February 10, 1956, near Fort Morgan, Colorado, to the late Kenneth Cross and Nancy Dudley Cross. When she was a child, the family moved to Lakewood, CO where she spent the remainder of her childhood and early adulthood. There, the family business was started which she would continue to manage throughout her life. She was raised to work hard and play hard and she was sure to pass on those values to her kids and grandchildren. She went to Creighton Jr. High and then graduated class of ‘74 from Lakewood High School-a time that defined the rest of her life. During those years, she developed close relationships with a group of lovely girls that can only be compared to a sisterhood through Christ. These girls, now lovely women, played an integral role throughout her entire life. They all supported each other in their marriages and while raising their kids. They are her “forever sisters.”
In the summer of 1978, she met and instantly fell in love with her husband, Gary Roth, of Denver, CO and they were married soon after on December 30, 1978. Together they raised three wonderful kids. In November of 1991, they relocated to Little Rock, AR where they would reside until all of her them were out of high school. In 2004 they finished building their dream home in Fayetteville, AR and moved there. She loved traveling and spending time outdoors with family either hiking, skiing, fly fishing, camping, mountain biking or just taking in the scenery at the beach or in the mountains.
All those that knew her a knew that she loved and trusted Jesus with her whole heart. Her gentle strength and motherly warmth was apparent as she was always the first person to lend an ear or offer an encouraging word of faith to those who needed it most. She constantly put others before herself. She lived a graceful life sharing her love with all those that surrounded her.
Her legacy will be carried on through her children and grandchildren which she treasured so dearly. She leaves behind her loving husband, Gary Roth, of almost 46 years; her eldest son, Eric Roth and his wife Amy Roth and their two boys Kannon, 10, and Kalloway, 6 of Tampa, FL; her son, Cory Roth and wife Emily Roth of Hartsel, CO; her daughter, Stacy Lankford and her husband, Chris Lankford and their twin daughters, Nora and Aylin, 4, of Fayetteville, AR; and brother Kenneth Michael Cross of Brighton, CO.
We invite all who cherished Cathy to join us in a ceremony of remembrance and celebration of life at Fellowship Fayetteville, 3447 N Hwy 112, Fayetteville, AR 72704, on December 4, 2024, at 12pm where we will share stories, laughter, and tears, just as Cathy would have wished.
