Charles "Chuck" Edward Radtke's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Edward Radtke, age 84, of Rogers passed away on Monday June 27, 2022, in Rogers, Arkansas after a long battle with cancer. Chuck was born November 17, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois the son of Charles M. and Lavergne (Tallut) Radtke.
Chuck lived in Chicago until he moved to Arkansas in the mid 70’s. He traveled through Northwest Arkansas while visiting friends and fell in love with the area. He quit his job in Chicago, bought the Shaddox Hollow resort off Beaver Lake, and moved his family to Arkansas. He later went to work for America’s Car-Mart as a car buyer until his retirement after 34 years in 2015. Chuck was a follower of Jesus and walked the talk in his everyday life. He reached out with generosity and encouragement to anyone he met along the way whom he felt needed help and/or inspiration. He was a jokester, and his great sense of humor made people laugh everywhere he went no matter how sick or in pain he felt. He enjoyed life and had many interests. He loved antiques and filled his house with antique furniture, lamps, and clocks. He loved antique cars and enjoyed taking his 1972 Monte Carlo and 1965 Mustang to classic car shows. He also loved making flower beds and working in the yard and enjoyed his fishing trips.
Chuck was loved and cherished by his family and friends for the extraordinary person he was, always trustworthy, always caring, and always fun. Some comments from friends were that “he was a blessing to all who knew him and one of a kind with a big heart”, “an amazing man with a beautiful soul”, and “a wonderful example of a man who put Christ first”.
