Charles “Chuck” Guy Baxter, age 61, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 28, 1953 in Takoma Park, Maryland, the son of David and Katherine Masters Baxter. Read Obituary
I had the honor of teaching with Chuck at Leverett Elementary for several years. He was such an easy-going soul, easy to work with and talk to, made me laugh everyday---just made my teaching days easier. When he worked in the technology department, he was very patient with me in a new position I had and helped me out a lot. Even though I was unable to see him these past few years because of our distance away, he will always be remembered by myself and my family. Love ya Chuck!!!
Marianne, this is your cousin, Margaret Ann. I now live in Jackson, MS. I just received my April15 Democrat Gazette. I am so sorry about the loss of your wonderful husband. I was skimming the page and Marianne Gibson Baxter caught my attention. I am so glad it did. My prayers are with you and your entire family. I have wanted to get in touch with you before through Loretta, but her number had been changed. I also lost touch with Paul until this Christmas after getting his card. I am on Faceboolk, but do not have messenger at this time.
I worked with Chuck in the early 80s and also with his wife, Marianne. Wonderful man and an asset to Fayetteville Public Schools. Prayers to family
My memories of Chuck are from his help with computer programming for us "technologically-challenged teachers". His patience and encouragement - including repeating directions multiple times until we "got it" helped me feel like I could finally learn what he was showing us. Marianne, my prayers and thoughts are with you at this time, that God give you peace and comfort.
Special memories of Chuck as he worked patiently with the teachers at FHS as we built our websites. He remained calm through much confusion. Thank you for all of your patience.
I feel privileged to have known Chuck. He was so much fun to be around. He was genuine, real, and totally unique! He will be truly missed.
I had the pleasure of having some high school classes with Chuck. He had a magnetic personality and my memories of high school will always reflect on him fondly. Because of the memories he gave so many people, he will always live in our hearts.

To the family,Chuck added life to my life and others. I hope he knew how loved and respected he was throughout Fayetteville by the people who knew him. I hope you know that! I learned so much from him. He always had a remark to make me smile even in the middle of a stressful situation. He was a great boss and leader and I was glad to also call him a friend. You will miss him everyday and that is okay. We will miss him too. Love and peace to you all.
A truly great man....we were all blessed to have been a small part of his life. You could never be sad with Chuck around, he always, always would approach a problem with the wisest wisdom and a gentle exterior that made anyone calmer. Thanks Chuck for everything.
