Charles Edward Sanford's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Edward Sanford, age 84, of Elkins passed away Monday May 25, 2026. He was born August 22, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Leon and Juanita Sanford. He was Catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 32 years Barbara Sanford; his brother, Father Harold Sanford; son in law, Clinton Holland and his grandson, Dayton Reynolds. Chuck was a great American Patriot, that he played the piano, and guitar.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Fay; four daughters, Christine Holland of Clarksville, Arkansas, Cathleen Vandergriff of Lawton, Oklahoma, Shelly Hollingsworth and her husband Scott of Elkins and Carrie Henderson and her husband Eric of Fayetteville; son, Bill Wooten and his wife Jessica of Elkins; eleven grandchildren, Kelsey, Mackenzie, Joseph, Sophia, Dallas, Dylan, Delia, Will, Wesley, Walker and Shelby; fifteen great grandchildren, Josiah, Mae, Madison, Lacynn, Liam, Evie, River, Tristen, Oliver, Beau, Talon, Nolan, Collin, Weston and Zoey.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am Saturday June 6, 2026 at Brannon Mountain Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
