Charlotte Fay Lenehan's Obituary
Charlotte Fay Lenehan, age 89, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on September 16, 2024, at her home. She was born on August 28, 1935, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to Jason Jared Tichnor Weissenburger and Annabelle (Baurle) Weissenburger. Charlotte grew up in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. She graduated from Mount de Chantal Academy in 1952. Charlotte was a longtime resident of the Kansas City area where she raised her family and enjoyed her circle of longtime friends in Overland Park, Kansas. She was a musette at the Kansas City Museum.
Charlotte married John Lenehan on November 2, 1985. She worked as a secretary for Eichler, Williams Insurance. Charlotte was a big supporter of the Walton Arts Center and a member of the Tri T. She was an usher at the Arkansas Razorbacks Women’s Basketball games. Charlotte had a close circle of beloved friends who she enjoyed dinner parties and playing Bridge with. She loved to travel when she was able.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tichnor Weissenburger.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, John Lenehan; three children, Jason Vanet of Fayetteville, Lisa Vanet Porter and husband Anthony of Johnson, Arkansas, and Jeffrey Vanet and wife Nooty of Gentry, Arkansas; two stepchildren, David Lenehan and wife Sara of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Nancy Kirby and husband Jeff of Keller, Texas; three grandchildren, Jason Vanet, Jr., Kyle Vanet, and Lea Robertson; eight step grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
