Chris Lyle James' Obituary
Chris Lyle James, age 74, of Fayetteville, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at his home in Wedington Woods in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Chris was a fun-loving father who taught his sons Miles and Lyle that hard work counts, and your word and a hand shake is as valuable as a written contract. He was loved by his friends and family and always stood by his quality work.
He was born February 16, 1950, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the son of Lyle R. James and Emily Jean Lester James. He worked with his father Lyle at Northwest Arkansas Asphalt Company, as well as working as a foreman for decades at McClinton Anchor Construction Company.
He graduated from Fayetteville High School, was a gifted football player, and attended college in Tempe, Arizona, studying engineering. He was an avid mechanic and was interested in all engines, especially anything pertaining to cars.
He is survived by his mother Emily Jean Lester James of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters Dawn Starnes of Jasper, Indiana, and Susan Ross of Rogers, Arkansas; two sons, Miles, G. James (Courtney) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Lyle P. James of Lexington, Kentucky; granddaughter, Paris T. James of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and extended loving family of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
