Christine Carol Bronson-Carr's Obituary
Christine Carol Bronson-Carr passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville. She was born December 2, 1951 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Wendel Allen and Bonnie Ruth Fleming. She is preceded in death by her parents and her baby son Casey Bronson.
Christine, who went by Chris or Crissy most of her life, attended Springdale High School and classes at the University of Arkansas where she studied architecture and interior design. She was gifted beyond measure in interior design and featured in prominent magazines throughout her career. A true lover of all things French, she traveled to Europe to find unique pieces for her antique and interior design shop, Feather Your Nest and French Quarters, which was a vibrant cornerstone of downtown Fayetteville for over 30 years.
Chris was involved for many years in Bible Study Fellowship and Women’s Ministry Bible Study at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Chris was an active member of the Maple Hills Garden Club and past member of the Garden and Nature Society of Northwest Arkansas. Chris was also a member of the local chapter of Philanthropic Educational Organization. Chris had many talents and passions in her life, and she always challenged herself to experience new things. She earned her pilot’s license in 1990 because she wanted to overcome her fear of heights. Most of all, she loved nurturing and caring for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, George “Storm” Carr of the home; her two sons, Matthew Shane Bronson and his wife Tammy of Fayetteville, Clayton Ryan Bronson and his wife Jennifer of Springdale; two brothers, Wendel Allen Fleming of Fayetteville, and Dan Edward Fleming and his wife Regina of Fayetteville; two grandchildren Harrison and Evelyn Bronson, as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00am on Saturday, May 25, 2019, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Mile Ministries at University Baptist Church, 333 W Maple St, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
