Claire Harrod's Obituary
Claire Harrod, age 17, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born June 1, 2006, in Rogers, Arkansas to Khosrow and Rosita Gyalog and at age seven was adopted into her “forever family,” Jason and Rachel Harrod and her siblings. She is preceded in death by her biological mother, Rosita Gyalog-Mazlami.
Claire was empathetic, compassionate and concerned for larger societal issues. She was passionate about social justice, equality and everyone having a voice. Claire was creative and had amazing artistic ability as well as vision for interior design and color schemes. She was funny and silly and at times combined her excellent sense of humor with her artistic ability to create cartoons that rival any comic strip. She was gorgeous with unique features that made her stand out. She aspired to be an actress and use that platform to make a positive difference in the world around her. Her love of animals was obvious and her connection with animals was always strong. She was strong.
Claire is survived by her loving parents, Rachel and Jason Harrod, her brothers, Aarisen-27, Michael-25, Kossy-21, Justin-16 and James-13 and her sister, Alyssa-17. Claire also had a close and supportive extended family, Great Grandmother Marilyn Matthews, paternal grandparents, Bruce and Audrey Harrod, maternal grandparents, Connie Swenson-Ruiz, Donald and Cindy Elliff as well as 13 wonderful aunts and uncles, many cousins and nephew, Amare. A celebration of life memorial will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at Fellowship Bible Church of Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TASC-Teen Action and Support Center, a local non-profit that supports and develops community partnerships to enrich and empower teens as well as provides early intervention and prevention services for teens at risk for addiction or other risk taking behaviors https://tascnwa.org/?form=TASCNWA. Donations in honor of Claire may also be made to Into the Light, a non-profit organization designed to foster trauma-informed, long term relationships with children and families whose lives have been impacted by human trafficking.
