Biography
Claude “Jack” Center Jr., age 95, of Greenland passed away Saturday January 4, 2014 in Fayetteville. He was born the oldest of eight children on March 12, 1918 in Schaberg, Arkansas, the son of Claude Randall Center, Sr. and Ica Ora Robinson Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Center.
He was a mechanic for Reed & Griffith and a member of First Baptist Church in Greenland. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Loretta Baugus of Greenland, Arkansas; Bethel Spencer of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, Randall L. Center and his wife Beth of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Terry Center and his wife Karen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a brother, Jim Center of Cedar Hill, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Greenland followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
