Clayton Campbell Walker's Obituary
Clayton Campbell Walker, age 68, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on February 7, 2023, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born on June 26, 1954, in Austin, Texas, to Thomas Campbell Walker, Jr. and Jeta Simons Walker. Clayton graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He worked as a business office manager for Noodles Italian Kitchen in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
His cousin, Dr. Robert Watson summed up how his family felt about Clayton, “I loved Clayton like my own brother (or sister), as I do all of you. All the Simonses are a close knit crew, but there has always been something special between the Walker and the Watson clan. To steal an old quote, I don’t know how many people God put in Clayton’s class, but it doesn’t take long to call roll! What an incredibly witty, kind, caring, loving, funny guy! So much love for him, and so lucky to have had him as a cousin, and to be able to call him my friend and brother from another mother, which goes for all of you as well.”
Clayton loved his family, the Texas Longhorns, and above all else, Jesus.
Clayton will be dearly missed but as Jesus said in John 14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God, Trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms, if it were not so would I have told you, and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again to take you to be with me, so that where I am you will be also”. We are so comforted in knowing with great confidence that Clayton is with Jesus, rejoicing in the Lord’s presence this very moment.
Clayton is survived by his lifelong partner, Brenda Plummer; sister, Mollie Means and husband Bill of Mount Pleasant, Texas; brothers, Mitchell Walker and wife Suzanne of Mount Pleasant, Ashley Walker and wife Charlotte of Mount Pleasant, and Kirby Walker and wife Kathy of Austin, Texas; Brenda’s son, Cory James Poulin of Wisconsin; nineteen nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces and nephews, and many extended family from Simons, Watsons, Oberholzers and Fuguas of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Jeta Walker; and Brenda’s daughter, Christina Poulin.
Memorial services are pending and will be announced at a later date in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
