Connie Irwin's Obituary
Connie Irwin was born in Webster Groves, Missouri on April 17, 1913 and departed this world on July 6, 2006 at the age of 93 years.
She was the daughter of Henry G. Gosting and Portia Brooks Gosting. She attended public schools in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Kansas. She was married to Frank Irwin for over 58 years and to this union were born three children, Dr. Carolyn Irwin Hall of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Dr. Catherine Irwin Schneider of Anchorage, Alaska, and Dr. Robert A. Irwin of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was a professional organizer for the Camp Fire Girls in Kansas City and in New York City. In Magnolia, Arkansas, she was president of the League of Women Voters and president of Abilities Unlimited, an Elder in the Magnolia Presbyterian Church, a member of the Columbia County Quorum Court, a director of the Senior Nutrition Program and in 1980, received the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year" award. In 1993, she was president of the Butterfield Trail Village Resident's Association in Fayetteville, AR. Her life was one of many services to her family, to others and to her community.
A memorial service be held 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at The First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.
