Constance (Connie) Fenton Mix's Obituary
Constance Fenton (Connie) Mix of Fayetteville died Tuesday March 18, 2025 in Fayetteville.
She was born May 1, 1933, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Truman C. and Blaine F. Hudspeth Shaddox. Mrs. Mix graduated from Harrison High School in 1951, received the BSE degree from the University of Arkansas in 1955, and taught school in Springdale, Ark. She and Dwight Mix were married while they were attending the University of Arkansas on January 27, 1954, at Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mix became a member of Central United Methodist Church in 1954, was a member of the Asbury Sunday School Class, a member of Circle 1, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Social Fraternity and an active alumnae for many years. She loved her family, church, and friends and enjoyed working in the yard.
She is survived by her husband Dwight Mix of (71) years and two sons, Dwight F. Mix,II (Janet) of Springdale, Ark., and David S. Mix (Lonnie) of Fayetteville, three granddaughters Dana (Jeremy Thompson), Christi (Lee Campbell), Ashley (Nick Ingram). Two grandsons, James Mix (Whitney), and Timothy Mix (Abby). Six great grandsons, Russell Pettit, Matthew Campbell, David Campbell, Theo Gunelic, Heston Mix, and Camden Mix. Two great granddaughters, Helen Mix and Hattie Mix. One brother, Dr. T. Steven Shaddox and sister-in-law Jan, and two nephews, Ben Shaddox (Nicole) and Jon Shaddox (Meredith) of Springdale. Three great nieces, Lydia, Ava, and Mattie Shaddox. Two great nephews, Cade and Tru Shaddox.
A visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday March 24, 2025, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Fayetteville. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 25 at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Greg Gibson and Pastor Chase Burns officiating. Family burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice.
