Constance Joy Nunnally's Obituary
Constance Joy Nunnally, a dedicated educator and passionate civic volunteer, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the remarkable age of 97.
Born on August 19, 1928, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Constance was the daughter of Ervin and Irma (Kuenne) Kinkel.
A lifelong learner, Constance pursued higher education with commitment and vigor:
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Physiology from the University of Wisconsin in 1951.
She went on to receive her Master of Arts in Educational Guidance & Counseling from Northwestern University in 1954.
Demonstrating her enduring thirst for knowledge, she returned to school later in life to obtain her Paralegal Certificate from Florida Atlantic University in 1991.
Constance lived a life defined by extraordinary civic engagement and public service. She dedicated countless hours and her considerable intellect to improving her community, serving on numerous boards and committees across multiple states. Her volunteer service included roles with:
The League of Women Voters of Kansas.
The Parks and Recreation Board in Overland Park, Kansas.
The Derby, Kansas Planning and Zoning Board.
The Boca Raton, Florida Planning and Zoning Board.
The South Palm Beach County Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Committee.
The E.Q. Land Bond Acquisition Board.
She also served as a volunteer in the Sedgwick County Court Guardianship Program and as Chairperson for the Council of Ministries at her United Methodist Church.
Constance was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ervin and Irma Kinkel, and her twin sister, Carol.
Her legacy of dedication, service, and love lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her three children: Ann Hayes and her husband Michael, Kevin Nunnally and his wife Kristi, and Heather LeMaster and her husband Gregg. She was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren—Christopher and Megan Hayes, Rachel Spahn (Aaron), Grant LeMaster (Meagan), Karaline Brasher (Nathan), Katherine Lindow (David), and Kyle Nunnally—and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of customary floral tributes, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Heifer International at https://www.Heifer.org, an organization that reflects Constance’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
