Daniel "Boone" George Mayes' Obituary
Daniel “Boone” George Mayes, age 80, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on January 30, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 25, 1943, in Sacramento, California, to Clayne Mayes and Jewell Hudson Mayes. Boone graduated from Blue Eye High School in Missouri in 1961. He married Brenda Smith on September 18, 1965, in Oak Grove, Arkansas. Boone worked as a laboratory technician for George’s Inc. for 27 years.
Boone passed away after a long battle with COPD. He managed his illness bravely and lived a full, happy life. He appreciated all he was given in his life, big or small. Boone was a smart man that loved his family unconditionally. He will be greatly missed, and our hearts are broken.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayne and Jewell Mayes; sister, Helen Kay Smith; brothers-in-law, Jerry Smith and Larry Smith; and nephew, Brian Mayes.
Boone is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith; daughters, Danna Freeman and Charity Moore and husband Lane; grandsons, Brendan Long and Skyler Freeman; granddaughter, Danyel Moore; sister, Doris Braswell and husband Ray; brother, Kenny Mayes and wife Debbie; nephews, Kent Smith, Craig Smith, Michael Braswell, Brent Braswell, Joel Braswell, and Nathan Mayes; and nieces, Laura Hartman, Jaymee McGarrah, Kaylynn Toombs, Kelli Smith, and Cammie Esch.
