Daniel E. Bannan's Obituary
Bishop Daniel E. Bannan, Jr., 65 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 in Fayetteville, AR. He was born June 10, 1938 in North Canaan, CT to Daniel Edward and Dorothy C. (Borland) Bannan.
He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army, a member of the Veterans of Foreign War (V.F.W.), Military Order of the Cooties, Ministerial Association, Chaplain to the American Guild of Organist, military chaplain, teacher, musician, and actor for the Washington County Historical Society, and worked on the County Board of Elections.
His wife Ruth, three daughters; Sarah E. Arquitt of Boone, NC, Lois A. Royal of McGrady, NC, Rachel R. Bannan of Fayetteville, AR, two sons; Daniel E. Bannan III of Durham, NC, S/Sgt. Joseph P. Bannan of Stockbridge, GA, one brother; John Bannan of Bowie, MD, and five grandchildren survived him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2004 at 10:00 AM in Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville, AR with Rev.'s C.L. "Red" Dixon and Steve Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
