Darlene Turner's Obituary
Phyllis Darlene Turner, 71 of Fayetteville, AR passed away from complications with Breast Cancer on February 6, 2012 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Darlene was born February 23, 1940 in Parker, AZ to Jess Smith and Thelma Marie (Massey) Smith. She was raised in Lebanon, Missouri and married Bob Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 53 years ago on November 27, 1958. Darlene was a devoted wife to Lt. Col. Bob Turner and supported him in his 24 year career in the United States Air Force. She was a loving mother of three daughters: Paula McKay of Tulsa, OK, Decinda Shimer of Siloam Springs, AR, and Carla Dougherty of Bella Vista, AR. She was an exceptional grandmother to Ross McKay of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Haley, Hannah and Hayden Shimer of Siloam Springs, AR and Matthew and Kyle Dougherty of Bella Vista, AR. She is survived by one brother; Jerald Carr of Springfield, MO, and one sister; Sherry Haney of Springfield, MO.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Reverend Don George officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that Memorial contributions be made to the following children's charities in Darlene's honor and on behalf of her two daughters who work for these non-profit organizations:
