Darrell Allan Garrett, a beloved husband, son, and cherished member of his community, passed away on September 26, 2023, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 63. Darrell was born on September 20, 1960, in Fullerton, California, and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of all who knew him.
To his adored wife of 43 years, Grace Brooks Garrett, Darrell was a dedicated and caring husband. Grace and Darrell built a life that is full of love, joy, and priceless memories.
Darrell Garrett had a solid foundation of love and support from the moment he was born, the son of Shirley Corbit Garrett and Elmer Eugene Garrett. He lived his life upholding the principles his parents had taught him, eventually becoming a father himself.
Darrell’s warm smile made him a true friend to many. He had an uncanny ability to make people feel valued and loved, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He cherished the time spent with his loved ones, creating lasting memories through family gatherings and adventures. His love and guidance will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, providing them with comfort and strength in the days ahead.
Darrell was predeceased by his father Elmer Eugene Garrett. He is survived by his wife, Grace; mother, Shirley Corbit Garrett; daughter, Chrissie (Maurice) Starks; grandchildren, Kania and Maurice Jr.; daughter, Jessica (Scott) Eckert; grandchildren, Kara, Anston, and Landon; son, Joshua Garrett; daughter, Meagan Garrett; grandchild, Serenity Nelson; and his sister, Kerri (Jason) Tatro.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to honor Darrell's life will be held on October 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Moore’s Chapel of Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to https://gofund.me/be9f1827 in Darrell's memory.
