David Wayne Gordon's Obituary
David Wayne Gordon passed away on July 25, 2025, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. David was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on October 22, 1959 to James Buckley Gordon and Modenia (Parker) Gordon. The family moved to Texas for a short period of time before moving to Ashdown, Arkansas. David attended and graduated from Ashdown High School. During his high school years, he developed a lifetime passion for sports, hunting, and fishing. David moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to attend the University of Arkansas as an education major. During that time, he met and married the love of his life, Cathy Ann (Burns) Gordon. David and Cathy were married for 41 years. David worked for UPS and retired after over 30 years of service.
David will be remembered for his smile and infectious laugh. Those who crossed his path were drawn to his witty personality and positive outlook. His humorous story telling was legendary. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and lifelong friends.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother, older brother James Buckley Gordon Jr., nephew Ty Gordon, and aunt Sheena Parker. He is survived by his wife Cathy, son Jason Skyler Gordon, granddaughter Sophia Rose Gordon, nephews Cole Gordon and Joseph Gordon, and aunts Pama Weaver and Jo Parker.
He will be interred at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, Arkansas.
There will be no formal service, but the family asks that David and family be kept in thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
