To Emily and David's family. We at the League of WWI Aviation Historians were saddened to recently hear of David's passing. He was a mainstay at our seminars, and always had a story or insight. We'll miss him.

I knew David for about 30 years, as a colleague on campus and as an Associate Dean and Dean of the Graduate School here at University of Arkansas.
He was always supportive of our program in Theatre and especially willing to assist in recruiting top quality graduate students.
We worked together on the University Commencement committee and was always a positive and encouraging leader.
Most of all. I remember with great pleasure his delightfully dry and droll sense of humor!
His presence will be missed.

To Emily and the rest of David’s family. I think of David fondly and regularly. I just learned of his passing and it saddened me. I offer you my greatest sympathy. It was always a pleasure to spend time with David in my office and enjoy his wonderful sense of humor and incredible intellect. All of my best wishes to you.

WC and I got to know Dr. Hart at Arkanshire, and we both loved him and were captivated by him. He never failed to recognize a passage of literature I quoted, and I challenged him! He and WC became fast friends and had long discussions about how to solve the world’s problems. He was such a dear and brilliant man and we miss him dearly. Our prayers are with Emily as she adjusts.

Rhonda and I are deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. We were very fond of him, and loved his sharp wit, his funny stories, and his vast knowledge. He was a valued mentor to us both in all sorts of ways, and we will never forget his many kindnesses. We also enjoyed having him as a neighbor on Markham Hill for several years, talking about local politics and birding and much else. He was a wise and gentle soul. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Emily and the family.
