I met David in the early 70's when he worked with K& B Commercial, his territory was Northern California. When we met, it was an instant friendship that lasted for 50 plus years. His enthusiasm and work ethic grew on everyone he associated with. The secret with Dave was that he made business fun.
Soon after K&B, Dave blended his talents with the PWS Family in Los Angeles. His ability to bring people together shined with the annual "Trade Show" themes he would come up with. From space ships to the Islands of Hawaii he created "mini theme parks" which brought small business people together in a relaxed atmosphere, with vendor participation and of course PWS as the host. All the time, giving families the opportunity to achieve their American Dream of small business ownership and financial independence.
Personally the memories with Dave were numerous. The dinners on Saturday during the Trade Shows, the naked swim with on the Sacramento River after dinner and drinks, the drive down Rodeo Drive with Dave singing his favorite Gaelic song, his venture into the wine business with Fred(Their brand was China Swan--rice wine importers from China). I could go on and on about this wonderful friend that was so instrumental to so many people.
"Bigger than Life" is a phrase we all know, but Dave truly exemplified this with his every breathe. I spoke with him about three weeks ago(his birthday), we laughed, we discussed his illness, he was positive and as we ended the call, we both acknowledge that we had wonderful lives and each stating, "I love ya man"!
God Bless David
