David Baird Jamieson's Obituary
David Baird Jamieson passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023. He had an ongoing health issue this year and more recently a 2 week stay in the hospital. He was born December 23, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas to James and Donna Jamieson. He graduated from high school in Houston, Texas and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. He and his wife, Judith Sistrunk Jamieson, were married for 42 years.
In his lifetime, David worked for Washington Regional Hospital, Wal-Mart, a local tree service and the Census Bureau. In the latter part of his life, he was a stay-at-home dad and cared for the 4 schnauzers that he and his wife had over a span of 35 years, Gretchen, Klaus, Teddy, and Jasper.
David’s hobbies included running, cycling, hunting, cooking, working on cars and gardening. He was also an avid TV watcher and enjoyed watching sports, game shows, and live action drama shows.
David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judith Sistrunk Jamieson, three siblings, Chris Jamieson, Julie Hoffman and Courtney Oppel as well as his aunt, Nan Canfield, and cousins Doug Canfield and Eloise Canfield.
A drop in visitation will be at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home, 206 West Center Street, Fayetteville, AR on Wednesday, October 25 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 6 West Dickson Street, Fayetteville, AR on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary.
