It was a pleasure to get to know Dave a little bit the last couple of years. Our condolences to MJ and the rest of the family.
I’m so sorry to hear about Mr. K. Sit next to him for many years with trumpet lessons. Always had jokes and stories about the casino. Also sat next to him in many performances in the orchestras and pit. Wonderful man and friend.
Mr. K was such a comedian in the classroom. “Mexican Telephone Company” was his version of Taco Bell. He would spring for donuts in first period if we were willing to go get them. He made classes fun and we all loved him dearly. My condolences to his family.
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. K’s death. He was so proud of his family and we all thought it was quite spectacular when Scott was born! I remember hanging a bib and pacifier on his office door the day Scott was born.
He was one of a kind and I just recently shared a Mr. K joke with one of my own students and spoke of him. I always enjoyed seeing him at all state so we could catch up.
He will be remembered for his talent certainly but most of all for his humor and the relationships he built with his students.

I’m sad to hear of Mr K’s passing. He knew how to get the best from each student. Taking them from player to musician. I was one of the lucky ones to experience this first hand. I have never forgotten him and never will.
There are no words to express how much I loved this man! Mr. K wasn't just another teacher. He watched me grow up, and he played in my wedding. He was like a father figure to me in college, always watching over me and making sure I was ok. He was one of the best people I knew! The memories I have are endless and priceless, and I even have the sweetest message from him on my wedding video, and I will cherish that forever! My condolences and prayers to his beautiful wife Joan, and his precious children. You all are so loved!! I will forever love and miss him!! He has his forever place in my heart !! ❤️ 🙏
Joan, and family: I am sad to learn of David's passing. There are so many memories of him and you both at UAM and in our homes. David and I joined the faculty of UAM the same year along with Annette and Beverly. Such a great quartet of friends. In remembering him, I also remember his talent, his friendship, you, and JoBeth and my times with you and him playing cards. You have been and will be thought of often.
