Biography
Deon Purser, 77, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Fayetteville.
She was born June 9, 1933 in the Steele Community, Arkansas, the daughter of Hugh and Ora Knight Holland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Purser; two great-granddaughters, Ashley & Tristian; four brothers, A. V. Holland, Hobert Holland, Odell Holland & Jerald Holland and two sisters, Patsy Holland & Ruby Nickels.
She was a Christian and a member of White Rock Light of Faith Church in Fayetteville,
was a retired telephone operator at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was devoted to her family and loved quilting, sewing and crafts.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Purser & his wife Debbie of Fayetteville & Rolland Lee Purser & his wife Vicki of Fayetteville; two daughters, Beverly Purser of Fayetteville & Barbara Caudle & her husband Eugene of Farmington; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Josielee Smith of Farmington; a sister-in-law, Anna Marie Holland of Decatur; a brother-in-law, Calvin Nickels of Fayetteville & numerous nieces, nephews & a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2 at Moore’s Chapel with interment in Mount Comfort Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Lynville Eaton & Chaplain Paul Woodhouse.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Moore’s Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Gene Evans, Sheldon Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Zane Edens, Kyle Edens, Tyler Edens, Eddy Allen, James Taylor and Rocky Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Purser, Ethan Cantrell, Zachary Edens, Leroy Belt, Dr. Hollis Rogers III, Dr. John Park, Dr. Jamon Pruitt, Dr. Mark Bonner, Dr. Charles Cale and Wayne Fristoe.
