Diane Strickler Breazeale's Obituary
Diane Strickler Breazeale was born in Los Angeles, California on January 2, 1937 She passed on June 27, 2025 to a majestic reuniting with her mother, sister, and father.
A loving, caring, global travelling companion, fellow sport watching fanatic, and devoted wife to William Alan Breazeale for 67 years of marriage. She had three adoring children- Benny, Rebecca, and Janet, along with four grandchildren that loved their Happy to the fullest- Blair, Sloan, McLean, and Tori- and 3 great grandchildren- Luke, Liv, and Max.
Mother had a very eloquent- articulate- expansive- vocabulary and ability to write beautifully with excellent penmanship… directionally or co-authoring many of our English papers over the years. With her reading prowess and word skill she would have been a great novelist. She played Scrabble at an expert rating level, loved playing card games, and with her entrepreneurial vision even co- created a learning knowledge game called HeadMaster that was marketed and sold through retailers.
Proverbs 17-17 says “A friend loveth at all times, especially in a time of need”… Mother epitomized this everyday with so many friends and family throughout her life, always being there to listen, help, and comfort others in their time of need. She was a “mother” to many.
We come across true difference makers in life ever so often… Mother was that, being an educator for 20 years starting in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Lindberg School and ending at Jones elementary in Arkansas. Teaching her students to a high level of learning was the expectation for all, as everyone in her mind was equal regardless of background or learning level. She also tutored many friend’s children to get them on reading level.
To say Mother enjoyed retirement is a real understatement… she LOVED RETIREMENT… and travelled the world seeing and experiencing new cultures and the beautiful scenery that accompanied. Hawaii, particularly the Big Island- Kona, and her beloved Paris, France- going to both many times were her favorites. She enjoyed long walks, whether it be down a Hawaiian beach whale watching and ending up at the Lava Lava Club, or strolling down Champs Elysees, Rue de Rivoli, or Quai Voltaire admiring the “just beautiful” or “just wonderful” open air art and book “Bouquinistes” along the River Seine and her pre’fe’re’ Eiffel Tower. She said “Paris has something for everyone, and everyone should enjoy Paris at least once in their life”.
Matthew 5:4 says “Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted as I am with them always”. Mother, we know you are now reunited with Granu, Aunt Janet, and your father Benny Strickler… listening again to that beautiful trumpet playing softly, as you all hand in hand stroll alongside the River Seine and a sunset picturesque Hawaiian beach. God Bless You on your life well lived and new journey. Aloha and Je t’aime sweet angel.
