Diane McWha Burns' Obituary
Diane McWha Burns, a beloved wife, mom, and Grammy/DiDi, went to be with her Savior on February 10, 2024, in Springdale, AR, at the age of 58. Born on July 16, 1965, in Fukuoka, Japan, Diane's life was characterized by love, faith, singing, and service.
As a member of the first graduating class of Shiloh Christian School and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Rogers, Diane's gentle spirit and deep love for the Lord touched the lives of many. She prioritized time in the Word of God, serving for years as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship, and impacting many women with her wisdom and kindness in various church Bible studies.
Diane's greatest joy came from her family. As a mother of 10 and grandmother of 14, her days were full of intentional love and dedication for each of them. Her Saturday night dinners were legendary, especially when steamed rice or macaroni and cheese were on the menu. Diane loved Razorback baseball, cherished moments at the beach, worshiped joyfully in the church choir, and enjoyed any time spent with dear friends.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Jimmy Burns; her children Rebekah Martin (Ryan), Bradley Burns (Caitlin), Ellen Burns, Susannah Folkes (Ryan), Benjamin Burns (Britanee), Joseph Burns (Kaylie), Stephen Burns (Madeline), Samuel Burns (Reigan), Caleb Burns, and Aaron Burns; her brother Ernie McWha; her sister Carrie Bennett (Ken), and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie Jame McWha and Shelba Jean Shuffield McWha; two grandchildren, Jamie and Jesse Folkes; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Burns, and her sister-in-law, Debra McWha.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Rogers. A private family burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Rogers Global Missions Fund, 3364 West Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, AR, 72758.
