Dianna Gail Bachert's Obituary
Dianna Gail Bachert, age 76, of Bentonville, AR, passed from this life Friday, August 27, 2021; she is now is rejoicing with our Lord and Savior! She was born July 25, 1945, in San Diego, CA, daughter of the late Ervin Russell and Thelma Ona Wilson Boardman.
Dianna grew up in Omaha, NE. She had so many exciting adventures in her youth. She loved to share those stories with her family; it made them laugh to see how another generation embraced life. She was bold and made friends everywhere she went her entire life!
Her world changed when she met the love of her life, Kurt. His job with Sears management transferred them from Omaha a couple of times and then they landed in Fayetteville AR. After a couple of years in the area, he could see the writing on the wall for another transfer. Kurt and Dianna decided that Northwest Arkansas was the perfect place to raise their children, Jennifer and Travis, so they stayed!
On Dianna’s 30th birthday she decided to get back into the work force and she went to an interview at First National Bank of Rogers for a bank teller job. They told her she was too old! After her initial tears, she got so fired up! She got her real estate license and was the first woman realtor to sell a million dollars in a year in Rogers. BOOM!!
The next exciting chapter was in 1978. Kurt and Dianna bought Rogers Furniture & Appliance! Kurt’s parents, Al and Kay, retired from up North in Chicago and moved to Arkansas and they worked for Kurt and Dianna. Papa Al took care of the books until he was 90 years old. The store name was soon changed to “Kurt’s Furniture” and had several remodels over the 38 years in business. Dianna assisted Kurt in all the buying in the early years and they had a ball attending furniture markets in Dallas, Atlanta, and Highpoint. Dianna was the tag line at the end of all the radio and tv commercials saying “Thanks, Kurt!”
God sure knew what he was doing in blessing Kurt and Dianna with Kurt’s Furniture! This store was the central hub for the family. It was their home away from home. When out of town family arrived, where did the festivities begin? Kurt’s Furniture, of course…Thanks, Kurt (and Dianna)!!!
Kurt and Dianna were blessed with many trips abroad thanks to GE and Simmons Bedding. They traveled to Spain, Italy, Morocco, France, Norway, Ireland, Monte Carlo, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Italy. Many wonderful memories and laughs were shared with fellow Arkansas furniture dealers.
Dianna led by example in all that she did, not afraid to get in there to get the job done with a joyful heart and radiant smile. She had a strong faith in Christ and loved to teach Sunday School to the little ones in her younger years. Our “Pizza Hut family” enjoyed many Sunday lunches together!
She was an outstanding and fun-loving mother to Jennifer and Travis. She taught them compassion for others, strong work ethic, and most importantly to keep Christ centered lives, hallelujah!
She is preceded in death by her precious husband, Kurt Elroy Bachert. They had 52 amazing years of marriage! They led by example in their love for the Lord, each other, family and friends. She is survived by: daughter, Jennifer Brown and her husband, Steve; son, Travis Bachert and his wife, Deanna; her grandchildren that rocked her world, Georgia Brown, Tanner Brown, Brandon Bachert, and Annabella Bachert (who were all blessed to live within 15 minutes of each other), sister, Kathie Fagen and her late husband, Bob of Nebraska; brother, Russell Boardman and his wife, Debbie of Nebraska; sister-in-law, Karel Seddon and husband, Ken of Nevada; brother-in-law, Bruce Bachert and wife, Bonnie of Missouri; and 11 nieces and nephews.
There will be no celebration of her life gathering, but we hope and pray each of you can celebrate her with many memories of joy and laughter that she brought to you. She sure did love to laugh and have a good time!
Cremation arrangements are by Nelson Berna Funeral Home of Rogers.
