DONA LYVON ROBERTSON ADAMS McFARLIN
Dona Lyvon Robertson Adams McFarlin, 79, of Fayetteville, died Monday, August 29, 2011 in Fayetteville.
She was born November 23, 1931 in the Whitehouse Community, the daughter of Dennie and Grace Robertson Watkins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Eugene Adams in 1972; a son, Roger Allen Adams in 1991, her parents and a sister, Opal Blevins.
She worked for Fayetteville Public Schools in the cafeteria for three years and Washington County Court House for two years.
She married Pat McFarlin and moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma for ten years before moving back to Fayetteville.
She was a lover of flowers and gardening. Her yard was always full of flowers and always made sure you left with a bouquet. She was a kind, loving mother and a wonderful wife. She was gifted in baking and canning and was a Christian woman. She was a lifetime member of Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Pat McFarlin and their beloved dog Penny; a daughter, Karen Lynn Adams of Springdale; two step-daughters, Gail Richardson and her husband Troy of Sapulpa, OK and Patricia McFarlin Blair of Tulsa, OK; a step-son, Rex McFarlin; four sisters, Jean Tuttle and her husband Jack of Fayetteville, Ruth Robertson of Fayetteville, Barbara Sauls of Springdale and June Hargrove of Sapulpa, OK; a brother, Ronnie Robertson of West Fork; two grandchildren, Aaron Richardson of Dallas, TX and Devon Reeder of Tulsa, OK; two great-grandchilden, Julia Gail and Abbey Rose Reeder of Tulsa and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville and interment will be in Black Oak Cemetery, near Winslow, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel.
