Donald William Lanier's Obituary
Donald William Lanier, 68, of Rogers, Arkansas died Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was born June 15, 1954, in Salem, Arkansas. Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Glenda R. Lanier, and his parents, Reverend Maurice Lanier and Ruth Marie Kornmeyer Lanier and his brother, David Maurice Lanier. He is also preceded by his stepson, William Nesbit and step grandson, Connor Whitlow.
Donald is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Lanier of New York and his stepdaughter, Melissa Nesbit Whitlow and step granddaughter, Jenna Whitlow of Fort Smith, Arkansas. And, his aunt, Edith Lanier, of Lansing, Michigan, and a number of loving cousins across the United States.
Donald was a graduate of Bentonville High School and attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas. He was a graduate of the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and an ordained United Methodist Minister. Donald enjoyed a career as a school teacher, a chaplain and a United Methodist Minister. He loved to read, listen to jazz music, take long walks, and do anything that challenged his mathematical skills. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bentonville, Arkansas and enjoyed the Bible Study group.
A memorial service will be held in the Fall of 2023 in NW Arkansas and Conway, Arkansas.
