Donald Wayne Newell's Obituary
Donald Wayne Newell, age 73, of Fayetteville, AR, (formerly of Osceola, AR) passed from this life Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born March 6, 1949, in Luxora, AR, a son of the late Boyce Newell and Ethel Grimes Newell. He was a retired auto parts salesman and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Donald loved to camp, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for singing gospel music and chances are if you met him, you left with one of his CD’s.
Donald never met a stranger; he loved his country and was proud to have served the United States of America during the Vietnam War.
Survivors are his children, Heather Corporon (Will), Colby Newell (Ashton), Whitley Newell; his brothers, Ed Grimes (Naomi), Bobby Newell (Lynn); his sisters, Joyce Helms (Danny), Eva Kumpf (John); his grandchildren, Alexandria Golden, Hanna Golden, Sam Golden, Maggie Golden, Olivia Corporon, Travis Corporon (Maggie), Camden Newell, Halleigh Newell, Madalynn Newell, Ryker Newell, Gracelynn Clapp, and Archer Newell.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Graveside service with military honors is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
