DONALD RAYMOND MARKET
Donald Raymond Market, 77, of Fayetteville, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was born November 10, 1933 in Gueydan, Louisiana, the son of Willie Hugh and Josephine Durio Market.
He was a professor of economics at the University of Arkansas. He was chairman of the
Department of Economics for many years and director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research. He received his Bachelor’s Degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and his Master’s Degree and Doctorate at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Market; a daughter, Jan Wier and her husband Patrick of Kimberton, PA; two sons, Andy Market and his wife Courtney of Charlotte, NC, and David Market and his wife Katherine of Brentwood, TN; a granddaughter, Alex Market, and five grandsons, Matthew Wier, Ryan Wier, Connor Market, Andrew Market and Alan Market.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
