Donna Watson Buell's Obituary
Donna Watson Buell of Goshen, AR passed away on August 21, 2024. Born in Huntsville, AR, Donna and her husband, Brian, settled in Fayetteville early in their marriage, and soon became community leaders, supporting several worthy charitable and civic causes. As an active member of the community and a fierce advocate for the underdog, Donna used her winning smile to uplift everyone around her. She was a force of nature and simply one of a kind. With her contagious laughter, she could light up any room. Her role as a parent was deeply important to her. When her children were attending St. Joseph Catholic School, she was a frequent volunteer and would be there at a moment’s notice when needed. Her passion for giving back to her community is what drove her to continue to volunteer with multiple charity events throughout the years and she supported many organizations. Along with her husband Brian they hosted Polo in the Ozarks charity event for 30 years on their farm. After visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina with Brian for polo, she quickly fell in love with the city and made it her home away from home. Antiques were always something she loved and being in Argentina ignited that passion again and allowed her to bring many pieces back to her home and have a small store in Fayetteville. Buenos Aires became so much more to her over the years with the friends that became like family, neighborhood restaurants that awaited her smile and friends that traveled there to enjoy it with her. Donna welcomed everyone into her home, warmly entertaining all visitors as if they were family. Sunday family dinners were the highlight of her week. She was a bright light making everywhere she was a happy place. She loved life on MattLane Farm and was happiest surrounded by her animals. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Hazel Watson. She is survived by her husband Brian, her son Mathew Buell and wife Criss, and her daughter Allison Buell Tritt and husband Josh, as well as her beloved granddaughters Phoenix Buell and Josie Tritt. She is also survived by her brother Gene Watson and wife Lois, and her sister Judy Gaines. And her beloved animals she cherished on her farm. A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Stone Chapel Reception Hall on MattLane Farm where she resided with Brian for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of the Ozarks or Peace at Home, two organizations that were close to Donna’s heart.
