Dora Mae Jones Hampton's Obituary
Dora Mae Jones Hampton, age 98, of Fayetteville, died Monday, May 26, 2014 in Fayetteville. She was born January 19, 1916 in Deer, Arkansas, the daughter of Richard and Maggie Rich Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hampton; her parents; a daughter, Charlene Sokolowski; four brothers, Jess Jones, Jack Patrick, Junior Hall, and Clarence Hall; four sisters, Flora Henson, Annie Patrick, Ruth Mayes and Rosa Lehman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois Ball of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Iva Harris of West Beach, Washington and Velda Carter of Grove, Oklahoma; four sons, Otis Hampton of Wenatchee, Washington, Glen Hampton of Atlanta, Georgia, Dan Hampton of California and Ted Hampton of Tacoma, Washington; a brother, Dewey Patrick of Springdale; 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at First United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial at Miller’s Chapel Cemetery in Winslow, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
