Dorothea Sue Miller's Obituary
Dorothea Sue Miller, age 79, a lifelong member of the Hazel Valley community, passed from this life on July 15, 2025, at her home. She was born November 30, 1945, in the Sunset community to Albert and Oma Long Hattabaugh.
Dorothy was a homemaker and took great pride in being known for keeping a clean house. She loved nature and knew a great deal about herbs and plants, as evidenced from her beautiful flower gardens. She also loved horse riding and went on many trail rides and camp-outs. An avid reader, Dorothy took pleasure in showing her extensive home library collection to others when asked and lending books to anyone interested. A member of the Hazel Valley Community Church, she was steadfast in her faith. Right before Christmas, the doctors declared that Dorothy only had a few weeks to live, but she knew that the Lord would take her in His, rather than the doctors’, timing. She was correct and during the next seven months, Dorothy’s health improved enough at one point for her to return to church and attend several services.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jerry Hattabaugh, Roger Hattabaugh, and Burl Hattabaugh.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 64 years, Bobby Joe Miller, of the home; two sons, Bobby Eugene Miller and Gary Miller (April) both of Hazel Valley; one daughter, Darla O’Neal (Bud) of Elkins; three brothers, Junior Hattabaugh (Grace) of Chelan, Washington, Jim Hattabaugh (Sarah) of Fort Smith, and Randy Hattabaugh (Dorothy) of Fayetteville; two sisters, Georgia Waites (Jim) of Huntsville, Alabama, and Ellen Clough (Eddie) of Grove, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren (including one on the way), and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday July 22, 2025 at the Hazel Valley Community Church with Bro. Mitch Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Valley Community Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville.
